Louise started as a fresh-faced new grad in 2001 and five years later found herself part of the Directorship and married to a local Dairy farmer! Louise has a particular interest in Dairy Cattle Medicine and Nutrition, but still enjoys a good pig-dog stitch-up like the rest of us! Having returned from maternity leave in September 2009, Louise has been working part-time and has thrown herself back into her Nutrition work.

Rosie has worked part-time at OVL on the small animal side since 1994. Originally from the north of Scotland, she is an Edinburgh graduate who has worked in the UK and Australia before settling in NZ. Rosie enjoys most aspects of the small animal work, but has a particular interest in small animal surgery and orthopaedics. Rosie has three (almost) grown-up children, but still spends a reasonable amount of her spare time providing a taxi service for youngest one. Outside of the veterinary work, interests include gardening, travel, socialising with friends, ski-ing and bee-keeping.

Louise is another 2001 Glasgow graduate who joined us in 2008. Louise spent five years working in mixed and small animal practice in the UK prior to moving out to New Zealand and like many of us, hasn’t got around to leaving! After two years of travelling and small animal locum work around New Zealand, she decided that she wanted to expand the farm animal side of her Veterinary career and joined OVL. Louise still has an interest in small animal medicine and surgery, but is enjoying the challenge of the farm work and has a particular interest in Mastitis. Louise is currently on maternity leave with her second child, we look forward to her returning to part-time work in 2012.

Ruby is another Cumbrian, but completed her Veterinary training at the Royal Veterinary College in London. Given her keen interest in the Production Animal aspects of Veterinary Medicine, she decided that New Zealand was the place to pursue her career and came to join us here in Otautau. Outside of work, Ruby enjoys travelling and fell-walking and is looking forward to enjoying the winter sports that Queenstown has to offer.

Aileen originates from Glasgow, Scotland and also completed her Veterinary degree in her home town. As a student, Aileen spent a reasonable amount of time working on some of the smaller islands off Scotland, so rural Southland wasn’t too much of a culture shock in comparison! Aileen is keen on all things outdoors and can often be found out kayaking, climbing mountains or skiing…..looks like Queenstown will be overrun with OVL vets through the winter months!
